Ben Browne has died in a helicopter crash accident in Afghanistan, it has been confirmed.
The 22 year old British soldier, from 22 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers, died alongside two
Canadian troops after their helicopter crashed in Zabul province on Monday 6th July 2009.
A nato spokesman said that they had "determined that the crash did not occur as a result of enemy
fire".
A British military spokesman, Lt Col Nick Richardson, said: "Today has been a sad day in the history
of Task Force Helmand and this death has deeply moved us. The loss of a soldier, friend and
colleague is tragic and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this sad time."

Thinking of you
Dearest Ben, we never met you but sadly we were there when you were brought home, as our son Dane was with you too. It was the hardest day of our lives and no doubt the same applies to your family.
